Art Direction
Art made for your walls. Curated for your life. Start to finish.
Art Direction is my most complete creative service. It starts with your home and ends with walls that finally feel like they belong there — whether that means original photography I shoot for you, art I source from artists I love, pieces I create myself, or all three combined.
Most people approach their walls the wrong way. They buy art they like and then figure out where to put it. Or they book a portrait session and hope the photos end up somewhere meaningful. Art Direction reverses that entirely. We start with the space — the room, the light, the scale, the feeling you want — and work backward to decide what belongs on those walls and why.
I hold the entire vision from the first conversation to the last nail. The Corner, my husband Eddy's custom frame shop, finishes every piece. You don't coordinate between a photographer, a gallerist, a designer, and a framer. That's all one person. Me.
THREE WAYS ART DIRECTION WORKS
Every Art Direction project is different because every home is different. Here are the three ways we can work together — separately or in any combination.
Original Works
I am a photographer and an artist. Some of the art I bring to clients is work I've created myself — images made to be sold as art rather than as portraits. If a piece I've made belongs in your home, I'll tell you. If it doesn't, I'll find something that does. My own work is part of the David William Home collection and is available for purchase through the studio.
Sometimes the art for your home already exists. Sometimes it needs to be made. Sometimes both. That's what I'm here to figure out.
Curated Art
You don't need to be in the art for Art Direction to work. I source pieces from artists whose work I genuinely love — original paintings, limited prints, antique finds, objects with a story. My collection draws from the American Southwest, the warmth of the Midwest, and the raw beauty of the mountain West. If you want your walls to feel collected over a lifetime rather than decorated in an afternoon, this is where we start. You tell me about the room and how you want it to feel. I find what belongs there.
Personal Photography
I shoot original photography specifically for your walls. A family portrait above the fireplace. A gallery wall of your children climbing the staircase. An intimate set of images for a nursery. Every session is designed around the wall it's going on before I ever pick up a camera — the size, the mood, the room it lives in. This is not a session that produces a gallery of images to choose from. It's a collaboration that produces the right ones, made for a specific place.
FRAMING & INSTALLATION
The Corner Makes It Complete
Every piece that moves through an Art Direction project gets finished by The Corner Custom Framing — my husband Eddy's studio and one of the best frame shops in Denver. The frame is never an afterthought. It's part of the design. We choose it together based on the art, the room, and how everything will live on the wall.
After framing, I come to your home and install everything. You don't hang a single nail. When I leave, your walls are finished — exactly the way we planned them from the beginning.
THE PROCESS
01 THE CONVERSATION
We start with your space. I want to understand the room, the light, how you live in it, and what you're drawn to. This is where we figure out whether your project calls for personal photography, curated art, original works, or a combination of all three.
02 THE CONCEPT
I put together a visual plan for your walls — what goes where, what sizes, what framing direction, what the overall feel will be. You see exactly where we're headed before anything is created or purchased. No surprises.
03 THE CREATION
Photography sessions, art sourcing, original works, framing decisions, production — I manage everything. You stay informed without being buried in details.
04 INSTALLATION
I come to your home and install everything. You come home to walls that are already exactly right.
Who is this for?
Art Direction is for anyone who wants their home to feel intentional — not decorated. You don't have to be a family with children. You don't have to want portraits on your walls. You just have to care about how your space feels and be ready to invest in getting it right.
It's for the couple who just moved into a new home and wants the walls to feel like them from day one. The single person who has lived with bare walls for three years because nothing has felt right. The family who wants a gallery wall that actually means something. The person who bought a beautiful piece of art and has no idea how to build around it. Anyone who has ever walked into someone else's home and felt something — a warmth, a sense that the space was genuinely lived in and loved — and wanted that for their own.
If you have a wall and a feeling, that's enough to start.
Investment
Art Direction projects are custom scoped based on the space, the number of pieces, and what the project includes — photography, sourced art, original works, or a combination. Most projects begin at $3,500 and grow from there depending on scope.
Custom framing is priced separately through The Corner. A clear estimate is provided before any work begins.
A Design Consultation is always the first step — it's how we figure out what your project actually needs before committing to a scope or a budget.
